Virtual Pre-K Recently our Pre-K Parents learned about Virtual Pre-K. Virtual Pre-K is a program that informs the parents how to take an active part in their child's education. The program shares family activities related to the Pre-K curriculum through a video tape, CD, and website.
Parent Nutrition Activity After viewing the Virtual Pre-K videos teachers and parents did a nutrition activity discussed in the video. This activity helped the parents to learn about nutritional facts, hygene, and how to involve the children in this activity.
Rainbow Fruit Salad The nutritional activity was titled Rainbow Fruit Salad. The parents first washed their hands and all of the fruit. Then the parents cut the fruit into small pieces.
Student Involvement After the rainbow fruit salad was finished the parents passed out the fruit to the children. Teachers and parents involved the children by asking them questions about smelling, tasting, seeing and feeling to develop their sensory skills.
Conclusion After the activity we came to the conclusion of what nutritional foods are important for the growth of a healthy child's development. The parents were given more examples of nutritional activities to prepare at home.
